The Department of Children and Families (DCF) is a governmental department charged with the care and protection of children. The government gives DCF the authority to remove a child from a family if it receives a report of child abuse and neglect.
DCF can get a report from anyone and will look into any allegation. If the allegation is serious, DCF will have an investigator on the case within 2 hours. If the investigator believes that the child is suffering from or is in immediate danger of serious abuse and neglect, the investigator is allowed to immediately remove your child from your home.
If your child is taken from you, it is imperative that you act immediately. DCF will apply for a hearing to temporarily remove your child and that hearing will be held within 72 hours.
Once your child is removed from your home, you must immediately act to find a qualified attorney. That attorney will have limited time to prepare for the 72 hour hearing so it is imperative that you act quickly.
The attorneys at S. De Oliveira Law will be able to act quickly to prepare for the 72 hour hearing. Losing custody of your child is the worst thing that can happen to a parent. We will fight for your right to parent your child.
